Tap water: ✅ Safe and high quality everywhere (Leitungswasser); Berlin's is fine to drink.
Safety: Berlin is safe and famously easygoing (~1/100k). Pickpockets favour Alexanderplatz, Warschauer and the U-Bahn; that's the extent of it. Look left for cyclists before you step off any kerb.

This is a Schengen-area country. Most US, UK, EU, Canadian, Australian, NZ, Brazilian, Japanese and Korean passports enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the whole Schengen zone. From 2025 the EU's ETIAS pre-authorisation applies to visa-free non-EU visitors — check before you fly.

💬 Traveller tips & reports
Carry cash, and mind Sundays — Plenty of bars, Spätis and even restaurants are cash-only — draw euros from a proper bank ATM, not Euronet. And nearly every shop shuts on Sunday, so do your grocery run Saturday. Both catch first-timers out.
