Everything it covers

One real entry from the Oslo guide

The price tables further down give you the ranges. The guide gives you the places — 35 of them in Oslo, each priced, each one tap from Google Maps.

Everything. Two files. One price.

This isn’t a blog post saved as a PDF — it’s a detailed, premium, 38-page A4 magazine — researched and checked in 2026, designed to be used. And every purchase comes as two files: the A4 edition for your laptop, tablet and printer, and a phone edition laid out tall and narrow so you never pinch or zoom — the same guide re-flowed into 110 phone-sized pages. Keep it on your phone or print it, open it at a street corner in Oslo and it answers the question you’re standing there with.

Add it up: 494+ researched details — every price checked, every venue placed, every link live. More usable information than a week of blog-tab hopping, in one beautiful file.

  • Made for the phone in your pocket — as well as the A4 magazine you get a phone edition: one attraction per screen, nothing cut, every link still live. No pinching, no sideways scrolling.
  • Every venue is one tap from navigation — 119 Google Maps links mean you never type an address on holiday.
  • Real prices, not vibes — three honest daily budgets (€82 / €139 / €269) and prices on everything from a dorm bed to a splurge dinner.
  • Zero sponsorships — nobody paid to be in this guide. If it’s in, it’s in because it’s good.
  • Book everything from the page — stays open on Booking.com & Hostelworld, experiences on GetYourGuide, Trip.com & Klook, transport on official operator sites.
  • Plan-it-for-me included — ready day plans, a Top 10, a best-of snapshot, and neighbourhood “best for” labels that choose your base with you.

🏧 ATMs & money

Fees: Minibank ATMs are surcharge-free — but this is a near-cashless country; you may go the whole trip without notes.
Limits: 5,000–10,000 kr per pull (9,900 is a common ceiling) — not that you'll need it.
Best machines: DNBSpareBank 1
Don't exchange money for Norway at all. Card and phone cover 100 % of life; a single small withdrawal covers flea markets.

🩺 Health & safety

Vaccines: Routine only.
Health: Tap water is some of the world's best. Real risks live outdoors: weather turns fast on hikes (check yr.no religiously, tell someone your route), and fjord water is arrestingly cold year-round.
Tap water: ✅ Among the world's best — drink straight from any tap with pride.
Safety: Statistically among the safest countries on Earth. Oslo's east-side nightlife districts are lively, not dangerous. Your genuine adversaries: hiking weather and the bar tab.
Emergency: 112 police · 113 ambulance

🌱 Vegan, veggie & gluten-free

Plant-based: Supermarkets are your ally: excellent plant-based ranges; restaurant menus always carry at least one veg dish, often superb.
Gluten-free: Fish, potatoes and root veg are the traditional GF core; 'glutenfri' labeling is universal and reliable.
Allergy law is strict — staff can list every allergen from memory. Just ask.

🛂 Visa & entry

This is a Schengen-area country. Most US, UK, EU, Canadian, Australian, NZ, Brazilian, Japanese and Korean passports enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the whole Schengen zone. From 2025 the EU's ETIAS pre-authorisation applies to visa-free non-EU visitors — check before you fly.
Rules change — always verify with an official source for your nationality before you book.

💬 Traveller tips & reports

The transit ticket is a fjord cruise — Ruter’s zone-1 ticket covers the Hovedøya ferries — beaches, monastery ruins, swim spots — for $4. Norway’s best-value ‘cruise’ leaves from Aker Brygge.
